Audi Q3 Sportback

CGI car, retouched street. High-resolution finish, up to bus-shelter size.

For the national Audi Q3 Sportback campaign, as a partner of the Wild Pony studio for DDB, I integrated the CGI car into three classic-style streets built from stock images.

The starting point was stock photos of city streets, full of signs, shop windows, passers-by and elements that didn’t fit the brand. I cleaned them one by one: I removed the signage, street furniture and people, retouched the asphalt and pavements, and added planters where the composition called for them. In one of the shots the original photo didn’t have enough room, so I extended it to the campaign’s landscape format while keeping the perspective and the details of the façade.

With the backgrounds ready, I integrated the Audi Q3 Sportback with contact shadows, reflections of the surroundings on the bodywork and consistent light between car and street, so it wouldn’t look pasted in. Finally, I matched the colour of the three shots so they would work as a single campaign.

Combining digital retouching and AI makes it possible to work at high resolution. The images ran outdoors, like the bus shelter in the photo, where every flaw is seen up close.
