Rodoreda, a forest

A heart, a bird, a flower and a hand. All made of roots.

Key visual for the exhibition “Rodoreda, a Forest” at the CCCB (5 December 2025 to 25 May 2026).

Starting from an idea of iconic elements from Mercè Rodoreda’s world made of roots, together with my colleagues at Wild Pony we developed a heart, a bird, a flower and a hand made entirely of roots. The techniques used are AI generation and digital retouching.

The challenge was for the roots to look real and alive, with their volume, texture and details of moss and small flowers, while still drawing each shape clearly. Every element was built and retouched to read both at poster size and on a street banner.

The artwork was used on posters in Catalan, Spanish, English and French, on street banners and on Barcelona buses.
